Version 0.1.5 for Demo Day 48
Turbostellar » Devlog
Making an actual announcement this time, a newer version of Turbostellar is uploaded for Linux and Windows. Version 0.1.5 consolidates a bunch of hotfixes I made on the last day of the Demo Day submission window with a few little edits I made in the week since. Input should now actually be fixed on Windows (I had been keeping Key Up/Down events as a count rather than just an on/off boolean state) and the game no longer has the code hot-loading I use when debugging.
A couple of other minor changes:
- It should be much easier to use the debug jetpack [C] to fly between worlds as the velocity shift upon change of reference frame has been cleaned up and should be a much smoother transition than it was.
- When in space (ie. when your compass isn't visible) you can now press [Q] and [E] to roll left and right.
- The base luminosity of the system star has been doubled so the lighting should be much more striking.
- Sway on your character's held item is now a second derivative of your mouse movements rather than a first so it should be a whole lot smoother if you had jerkiness before.
As stated in the readme, there won't be another demo for Turbostellar for some time. My focus for 2023 is to release Ctesiphon instead now that I have come up with a direction to take it in that I'm actually happy with.
